TaxFight
TaxFight is live but not open for business yet. The screener runs against the City of Calgary's live assessment data, so everything it tells you about a real address is real. Checkout is not connected (a database, Stripe keys, a Resend key), so nothing can be bought and no card can be charged.
DRAFT, not reviewed by counsel. This text has not been reviewed by a lawyer and must not be relied on. It is published here so it can be reviewed.

Aveyon Holdings Ltd. operates TaxFight. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to the Alberta Personal Information Protection Act.

Who is responsible. We have designated a privacy officer who is responsible for our compliance with the Act. Contact them at help@taxfight.ca.

What we collect, and why. - Your name, email, phone and mailing address, so we can run your file and so the board and the City can identify you as the assessed person. - Your property address and roll number, which are public information published by the City of Calgary. - What you tell us about your property, including what you paid for it and when, its condition, and any photographs you send. We use these as evidence in your complaint. - Payment information, which is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. - Records of what we did on your file, and of the consents you gave, including the date, the version of the document and the IP address it was given from.

We collect this from you, and from the City of Calgary's published assessment data. We tell you the purpose at or before the point we collect it.

What we do with it. We use it to run your complaint and to contact you about it. We give it to the Calgary Assessment Review Board and to the City's assessment staff, because that is what filing a complaint requires. We do not sell it and we do not give it to anyone else for their own purposes.

Where it goes. Our database and our email provider may store data outside Alberta. We will tell you which providers if you ask.

How long we keep it. For as long as your engagement is active, and for seven years after that, so we can answer questions about a past assessment year.

Marketing. We only send you marketing email if you asked for it. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link that works.

Your rights. You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, and we will respond within 45 days. You can ask us to correct it. You can withdraw your consent, though that may mean we cannot continue to act for you.

Security. We hold your information with reasonable security arrangements. If there is a breach that creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will report it to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta and tell you if we are required to.
